As The United Methodist Church works hard to be true to Gospel, United Methodists are increasingly supporting the full equality of gay and transgender people. One day — perhaps in May of 2012 at General Conference — we will join Presbyterians, Lutherans, Episcopalians and others in dropping barriers that prevent gay people from full participation and leadership in our denomination.
